The Event
Berry Connected is our own event: we host it and we produce it. Eighty guests, one evening, at Doppietta — an Italian restaurant in Barcelona with enough character that it does half the work before anyone arrives.
Guests were met with a pink welcome drink and a goodie bag, and the food ran as grazing tables through the evening rather than a seated dinner. Nobody was pinned to a chair, so people kept circulating and the room stayed loud.
Speakers took a short slot in the middle, and a ceramic workshop ran alongside it: guests built their own coasters from loose ceramic pieces. It gave people something to do with their hands and, more usefully, something to talk to a stranger about.
An ice cream cart rounded the evening off.
What It Set Out to Do
- Give eighty people who mostly did not know each other a reason to talk.
- Keep the room moving rather than seating everyone at a table plan.
- Make it feel like an evening out, not a conference with canapés.
